Nadean Rawlins – President

Nadean Rawlins’ career in entertainment started over 20 years ago as an actor and since then she has worked in various capacities in theatre, film, and television. In 2015 she started RAW Management, a Jamaican production company and talent agency that focuses on developing and promoting Jamaican stories and talents through advancement and international exposure. 

Mezan Ayoka – Vice President

Mezan Ayoka is a Jamaican writer and filmmaker who attended the Los Angeles Film School. She has written and directed short films, including Nine Night, Ding, Grow Jamaica Grow, and Going Down and has worked in advertising and local TV. Her short film Going Down, is a 2018 JAFTA Propella! grant awardee and premiered at the Trinidad and Tobago Film festival (2018).

Romi Toyloy – Secretary

Romi Toyloy is the Founder & CEO of the JAMECCA Cultural Center Limited (JCC), a startup tertiary university dedicated to providing holistic, state-of-the art education in the creative and applied arts, as well as Jamaican traditions . 

Dr. Lisa Tomlinson – Treasurer

Dr. Lisa Tomlinson is a Lecturer at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in the Institute of Caribbean Studies. She teaches Caribbean and African diaspora film courses and Caribbean cultural studies. She is the author of the books entitled The African-Jamaican Aesthetic: Cultural Retention and Transformation Across Borders and Una Marson (Caribbean Biography Series).

Brianna Nelson – Membership & Training Director

Brianna Rae Nelson is a filmmaker with a background in cinema studies. As a former fashion
publicist she toyed with the idea of making her passion for film into a career. She has gone
on to direct and produce several short films, skits and web series.

Rachel Chin – Director of Training and Development

Rachel Chin is a writer, editor, filmmaker and researcher from Kingston, Jamaica. She’s always been devoted to the study of narrative, whether writing script coverage or a 17,000 word thesis on immigration history. Narrative is her entire deal.
